OUR AIM AT THE ANCHOR INN is to provide our customers with the service comfort and feel of a bygone England. All our luxurious double rooms and suites are filled with books and photographs that serve as reminders of years gone by, and those great Englishmen and women, that through great strength and courage created history that in some way has impacted on all our lives and for all time. The style of food Andy is hoping to produce at the Anchor is typical English pub fare by using the best English seasonal produce which is either sourced as locally as possible or within the British Isles.
In today’s world of political correctness, a government that no longer seems to value a cohesive family way of life, whilst at the same time meddling in our personal habits and pastimes, one can still find in the corner of a Hampshire field an English Inn, that is forever England.
If one wishes to take ale while reading the Daily Telegraph, enjoy a plate of Andy’s herring roes whilst listening to the sound of ‘leather on willow’ on our Robert’s radio or simply relaxing by an open fire immersed in a verse by ‘Rupert Brooke’ then my friend you will have found your own little slice of what so many died for, a great country called “England”.
