LOCAL ATTRACTIONS

The Anchor is ideally located for those wishing to explore the historic town of Farnham with its 900 year old castle inhabited for 800 years by the Bishops of Winchester. Slightly further afield is the cathedral city of Winchester, an important historical centre and home to King Arthur’s Round Table.

The author, Jane Austen, lived locally at Chawton and her home is now a museum showing how the Austen family lived and what inspired Jane’s classic novels.

The local area is also a haven for walkers and The Anchor Inn has plentiful maps showing local footpaths.
